BONNIE Therapy offers massage paired with red light therapy in Center City Philadelphia, a short walk from Jefferson and the surrounding hospitals in the 19107 zip code. Every session is designed to release tension where it builds up most, and every session includes red light therapy at no extra cost.
Why pair red light therapy with massage?
Massage and red light therapy work on the same goals from two directions. Massage works mechanically, through the hands. Red light works at the cellular level, through specific wavelengths of light.
What red light therapy does
Red light therapy, also called photobiomodulation or low-level light therapy, uses red and near-infrared wavelengths that penetrate the skin without heat or UV exposure. Research suggests this light is absorbed by the mitochondria, the energy-producing structures inside cells, which may support:
Collagen production, associated with firmer skin and softer fine lines
Circulation, bringing oxygen and nutrients to tissue
Muscle recovery, with studies showing reduced soreness after physical strain
Calmer-looking skin, through reduced visible redness and inflammation
It is non-invasive, painless, and requires no downtime.
What massage does
Therapeutic massage releases muscle tension, improves local blood flow, and helps shift the nervous system out of "fight or flight" and into a rested state. Myofascial techniques also address the fascia, the connective tissue around muscles that can tighten and restrict movement.
Why they work better together
Warm, relaxed tissue. Massage loosens muscle and fascia and increases circulation, so the area receiving light is already primed.
Recovery support. Massage releases the tension; red light supports the tissue's own repair process afterward.
Skin and structure in one session. For the face, massage addresses the muscles beneath the skin while red light supports the skin itself.
Deeper rest. Lying under a warm, quiet light at the end of a session extends the calm. For healthcare workers who rarely get a true pause, that matters.
Our services
BONNIE Therapy currently offers three sessions. Each one includes red light therapy.
POSTURE — 50 minutes
POSTURE is a targeted massage for the muscles that most affect how you stand and carry yourself: the neck, upper back, shoulders, and chest.
Poor posture is rarely a matter of willpower. When muscles stay contracted for hours, such as the chest and front of the shoulders while leaning over a keyboard or a patient, they pull the body forward and hold it there. Opposing muscles in the upper back overstretch and fatigue. Telling yourself to "stand up straight" works against that tension and rarely lasts.
Massage changes the starting point. Once tight muscles release, the body can relax into a more aligned, supported position instead of forcing one. Better posture becomes easier to hold because it is no longer a fight.
The results last longer when paired with a simple stretch routine at home. Stretching keeps newly released muscles lengthened and helps the body maintain the more relaxed position between sessions.
Best for: desk and computer work, long shifts on your feet, frequent lifting or patient handling, neck and shoulder tightness, tension headaches.
SCULPT — 50 minutes
SCULPT is a face, head, and neck massage that releases tension and uses lymphatic drainage techniques to reduce puffiness and restore definition.
SCULPT is shaped by experience of owning and running a medspa that is highly esteemed for its dermal filler, botox, and skin results. That experience brings a working knowledge of facial anatomy, including how the muscles of the face are arranged and how they influence the way skin sits. Techniques follow that structure to:
Lift naturally, by releasing tight facial muscles that drag features downward
Restore glow, through myofascial release and healthy blood flow to the skin
Reduce puffiness, with gentle lymphatic drainage that helps move excess fluid
Release the jaw, scalp, and neck, where stress and clenching are held
Red light therapy complements SCULPT by supporting collagen and skin tone, so you leave relaxed and visibly refreshed, naturally. There are no needles and no downtime.
Best for: jaw clenching or grinding, facial tension, puffiness, dull or tired-looking skin, a natural alternative or complement to injectables, pre-event refresh.
Signature — 80 minutes
The Signature combines POSTURE and SCULPT into one complete session. It begins with targeted bodywork for the neck, shoulders, and back, moves into the full SCULPT facial sequence, and finishes with red light therapy.
It is the most complete reset we offer, and the best value for anyone carrying tension in both body and face.

Frequently asked questions
Is red light therapy safe?
Red light therapy uses no UV light and does not burn or damage skin. It is considered low-risk for most people. If you are pregnant, take photosensitizing medication, or have a light-sensitive condition, let us know before your session.
Does red light therapy cost extra?
No. Red light therapy is included in every POSTURE, SCULPT, and Signature session.
How often should I book?
Many clients start with a session every two to four weeks. People with chronic posture tension or those preparing for an event may benefit from more frequent visits at first.
Is SCULPT a facial?
SCULPT is a facial massage, not a skincare facial. The focus is on muscles, fascia, and lymphatic flow rather than extractions or peels. Clients often notice brighter, more lifted-looking skin afterward without the use of chemicals.
Where are you located?
We are located at 1126 Walnut St. Second Floor Philadelphia, PA 19107, within walking distance of Jefferson.
